Day 9

Ok, so I haven't done anything since Day 5, been busy with life... but I do have an update, I've been indexed by Google!

I haven't shown up for my main keyword but am for all 3 of my secondary keywords. In their respective orders, the ranks are: 145 / 202 /14

This is with no backlinks and the site is still being built, with the home page being complete. Not bad, I was surprised with the 14 considering that it is my least targeted keyword. I haven't done any rank searches for long-tail keywords as the pages haven't been fully completed yet.

Oh, still no showing on Yahoo or Bing.

Day 5

So I just finished creating 2 small graphics and only need 1 more, but I probably won't start on that till more valuable content is created. Spending 15 minutes on my next page would have more effect than completing an image that is just going to do pretty much nothing (yes, I do add the keywords into the description of pictures), but still.

Day 4

Today is Day 5 but I didn't get to finish the update for Day 4 so here it is. I was able to get the image done for the header of the page. Took about an hour, it should shorten as I learn exactly what I want rather than play around with it until I'm satisfied....maybe that wasn't the right way to phrase that....but it's done. I submitted my URL for crawling to Google, Yahoo, and Bing. That's about it, time to get to work on Day 5.

Day 3-4

Ok, so yesterday I went to work, came back, past out. Then had to wake up a few hours later to go back to work and slave away. Got out at 7 and now it's 10:45, I somehow had to do "chores" that only I am human capable of doing.

Day 3 went by with nothing much done, I did get a custom graphic completed and Google Webmaster Tools set up. I think most of the "Lorem ipsum" is gone as well (only from the home page). None of the links are working yet.

Day 4 is here and doesn't look like much is going to get done. I need to wake up early again for work but we'll see. (I consider after midnight as tomorrow). I managed to get Google Analytics put up, oh how long those 60 seconds were.... but yes, I need to somehow find time to place the tools on this blog as well. I'm tempted to start submitting the site to search engines just to begin the crawling and DA stats but hesitating for some reason.

I don't know, I'll get something done and hopefully get a return. Off to tomorrow then.

Day 2

So last night I was working till 3:00 AM and had to wake up at 7. Went to work at 3 and got back home at 11:30, ate and now it is 12:45. So I've been awake for almost 18 hours now. How much I have left to work....

Let's just keep stats for now and updates will come tomorrow morning instead of after midnight. And I work at 3 again, joy xD. I have not done any linking or submitting as the site is not complete, but the website is live at the moment.

Day 1

Ok, so I've tried to make money online before, took me months to make a little over $40 in adsense revenue before I completely forgot about the topic.
Now I'm back, with a vengeance. Trained and mentally prepared for the journey ahead. The main difference this time is that the monetary goals are long-term, and for short-term I am committed to goals of effort such us getting 100 unique visitors in a month.

Today I just bought my hosting (shared monthly plan for the time being) and my first domain. I had previously done the research for the niche, which has 20,000+ searches per month and a competition of 100,000+. I did make somewhat of a rushed decision, anxious to start some kind of momentum going, considering that the average CPC is under $0.50.

That said, the competition number is high, but the top ranked sites for the keyword aren't aged nor linked greatly. I should hopefully be able to break into the top 10 easily, top 5 with some effort, and the top 3 will show whether I am well skilled or have much more basics to learn.

I plan to start a second project once this site reaches $40 a month. Back to work!
